I do not understand the concept of getting a tan. I just never have. If you go out into the sun for too long, you get burned, right? And spending a little less time in the sun results in a less severe burn. What is this I hear about tanning if there is no middle ground? I don't get it!And that must be why I dislike tans; I instantly associate light with burns and cancer therefore, I see a person with an obviously manufactured tan and I shriek in horror, "You're gonna die!" Well, perhaps not that dramatic but still, it unsettles me to see a girl with skin darker than her hair. Lucky for me, I live in an engineering building where no one sees the sun...I'd better move to Alaska before long.

I remembered why I thought you knew my friend Marci - I sent her a lot of your missionary emails. so she knows you. don't be freaked out.
I never did understand tanning either. The one time I ever went was to get a spray on so I didn't look so pasty when I went to Hawaii. But I'm glad I don't tan.
I learned in my Human Diseases class today that 90% of all cancer cases are classified as carcinomas and most of those are cases of melanoma.
For our generation, if you don't die of diabetes it will be from skin cancer.
Beetle, that is a very true statement. Those of us who are fair skinned never tan, we just burn.
