So yes, it has been quite a long while. What has happened? Well, here is a breakdown. Since January, I have nearly finished another semester at school. It hasn't been a terribly trying semester. In fact, since I only have three classes, it has been relatively straightforward. It hasn't been that I am without time to blog, but that I am without reason.
Over spring break, I got in touch with several old friends. Some from High School, one from the mission, others from times past. I also got cavities filled and my eyes checked. So I now will have glasses! Which is awesome; I will be able to see like I've never been able to see before.
Also, this past week or two has marked my first actual active involvement in the democratic process. A proposed increase of fees was brought up nothing but some propaganda supporting it. I went full-on in researching the ins and outs of student fees and the athletics department. Nothing I learned convinced me much of a need to take $3 Million from the student and give it to the athletic department nor that they deserved it any more than AIG deserved their bailout. I did my research, put it in neat little graphs on fliers, printed out about two dozen and posted them around campus. I haven't checked them all, but I would guess that most of them were torn down. The ones in the Engineering building were all torn down repeatedly in any case.
Anyway, much to my disappointment, the fee increase passed with the support of the students through the misinformation of the powers that be. They run up a deficit over the past few years and then play on the student sympathy for athletics, propagandize at basketball games and squelch opposition to get enough money to cover the deficit and then some. Just in case, perhaps?
So that's my spiel. I've never been too involved in athletics but never actively opposed them. I mean, I already have been paying for basketball and football games that I never go to. I didn't even realize that the games are free until last fall, not that I go now. I've been to more hockey games (where I do have to pay) than anything else. Spectating sports intrigues me, just not in the way where I want to participate in spectating. More like, I can't possibly think why I would want to. I'd rather be involved in playing, not watching (but sometimes, not by much). I've concluded it must be the atmosphere. Screaming at the top of my lungs while in pep band was enjoyable, but not because of the basketball or football game; just because it was enjoyable.
That's mostly it. I've been looking for a job/internship for the summer and so far, no hits. We'll see how that works. Other plans for the lesser distant future include the possibility of a three-man triathlon team in one month. I went swimming today to train and found how badly I had gotten out of shape since my swimming days in the summer. It may be doubtful that Thad, Matt, Harrison and/or myself do this triathlon, but one can dream...

You'll find something soon as far as job/internship. You're SUPER smart and capable. Employers just don't know what they're turning down. Ah well.
