Carrot!

I wrote this one in 9th grade. Kimber helped me write it.

Charles “Carrot Boy” Peterson was an avid carrot eater. He ate boiled carrots, fried carrots, frozen carrots, steamed carrots, baby carrots, fresh carrots, carrot stew, and even carrot ice cream. He ate so many carrots, he turned orange.

One day he woke up, and after breakfast of scrambled carrots with carrot juice, he noticed a sprout growing out of his navel in the mirror. With the combination of the orange skin and the sprout growing out of his belly, he decided to make an appointment with his doctor. When he got to the doctor’s, he found that it had been evacuated because of the orange skin epidemic. The good doctor soon appeared covered fully in suit, mask, and gloves. Charles asked the good doctor, “I think I have a small problem. This sprout…” “What you have here is a rare but lethal disease. A CTD, or Carrot Transmitted Disease.”

Charles was shocked, “Is there any cure?” The good doctor then pulled out a syringe and stuck it roughly into Charles.

The good doctor answered, “This should help.” Immediately, Charles started to change slowly. He stretched out and became more and more orange. After he stopped moving, the good doctor picked up Charles and took a bite. “Not bad…”
